YouTube has truly taken the internet world by storm in the past 5 years. It really came into its own when Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell blew up the site with “Lazy Sunday”. Since then, the site has become a huge source of the funniest, most watched videos on the internet. It’s truly amazing how one site has become the #1 source for so many videos. Other hits include “Rick Roll”, “Ginger Kid”, “Tay Zonday” and a plethora of music videos. The following videos are the top videos on Youtube.com for the past 30 days.
The Twilight Sage – Eclipse Trailer – 10,000,000 views. The vampire saga that has taken over the world the last few years released its new trailer recently and Youtube has been the beneficiary of all of those Twilight fans out there. With a hair over 10 million views, Twilight has become a sensation for fanboys and fangirls alike. While I personally haven’t watched one movie, Twilight has become a phenomenon that doesn’t look to be slowing down the next few years.
OK Go – This Too Shall Pass: 9,800,000 views. Ok Go are the guys who became famous with their interesting music videos a few years ago. Most people have seen them as the guys who did the treadmill music video. It was quite creative, but it holds nothing to this recent music video. The most insane rube goldberg is filmed in just one take and takes over 4 minutes long. This video is worth watching on mute the first time just to see all of the cool things that they do in the video.
Lady Gaga – Telephone – 6,400,000 views. Lady Gaga in the past year has become one of the most popular pop singers making music today. With a lot of fans out there, Lady Gaga produces one of the most interesting and long videos today. While some fans love the video, a lot of people come out disgusted with the amount of product placement viewed. Some products in the video include: Virgin Mobile, Diet Coke, & Polaroid among others. Check it out for yourself.
McDonald’s Fail – 4,100,000 views. Failblog brings Youtube users some of the very best, hilarious, fail acts that have been video taped all over the world. The most recent one shows a fried chicken head at a local McDonald’s restaurant. Usually, it’s car accidents, people behaving badly, or something completely random, but Failblog has been successful in making people laugh for well over a year now.
Annoying Orange Gets Autotuned – 3,900,000 views. I would not have known about the annoying orange if I did not watch this video. I think it’s a little creepy to say the least as seeing a moving mouth and eyes on an orange is just plain strange. What does help is the auto tuning the phone does to make that crazy orange a little less annoying. For me though, it’s just not enough.
